Program Description:
Phytophthora
citricola causes both a root rot and trunk canker in over 45
species of plants, but has only been reported as a seedling root
rot of black walnut. We have identified this pathogen as causing
a stem canker of black walnut in Indiana, and are currently working
on developing a better understanding of this pathogen so we may better
manage this disease.
