Private applicators can renew their private pesticide applicator permit by attending three recertification programs in five years or by taking the pesticide core exam every five years.
One of the three recertification programs can be an online program. Only one online program will be credited during the five years of a private applicator permit. A maximum of two recertification programs (in the county or online) in a calendar year are eligible to receive recertification credit.
The fee for the online program is $10, the same as a recertification program in a county. A refund will not be given if more than one online program is taken in the five years of the private applicator permit. A refund will not be given if a private applicator pays for more than 3 recertification programs during the five years of the permit.
Before registering for an online recertification program, a private applicator should check the number of recertification programs and expiration date on their private applicator record from the following link Private Applicator Record.
The online program must be completed before the expiration date of private applicator permit in order to receive credit. Program registration does not equal program completion.
A person without a private applicator permit may also take an online program for the $10 registration fee. However, only private applicators will receive recertification credit from online programs.
The online pesticide program requires Adobe Acrobat Reader and an active email account.

Call 888-398-4636 to register for the pesticide online program. A credit card account, Private Applicator number, and email will be requested. An email with instructions will be sent after registration is complete.
