Pesticide Core Exam
The Pesticide Core exam is required of:
1. First-time private pesticide applicators .
2. Any private applicator that does not attend three pesticide recertification
programs by the permit expiration date (five years to complete).
The Pesticide Core exam has 90 multiple choice
questions taken from the pesticide applicator core
manual. The
exam takes approximately 60 to 90 minutes. An exam
outline is available to assist with studying for the exam.
The Pesticide Core exam will be offered regionally in
the state and at the exam-only dates held
monthly on the Purdue University West Lafayette campus. Extension
educators do not give the Pesticide Core exam.
Everyone taking an exam at any
of the locations must show a government issued photo ID.
(A government-issued photo
exempt identification card from the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles
will also be accepted in certain circumstances.)
There is no fee for the Pesticide Core exam. OISC
will grade the exams. Those who pass the exam will be sent a private
applicator permit form and a request for $20. After receiving the
completed form and fee, OISC will issue the private applicator permit.
