PLAN AHEAD...
Have equipment available For the spill emergency
Be prepared. Missing, unavailable, and non- functional equipment is of
no help in an emergency.
* Protective equipment for all products handled
* Absorbent material to contain a spill
*Tools for constructing temporary earthen dikes
*Clean water in portable holding tanks
*Highway warning signs caution tape, first aid kit, fire extinguisher,
tools, flashlight, eye wash bottle
*Cleanup equipment such as shovels, brooms, dust pans, squeegees, plastic sheeting,
diaphram pump with hose screen, reflective vests for cleanup crew
*Salvage drums for holding the wastes cleaned up, and overpack drums
for shipping the salvage drums

A Pesticide Spill
...can happen to anyone-even to those individuals who exercise
safety procedures to minimize the possibility. Your degree of
emergency preparedness will have a direct impact on the severity of
the situation if a spill occurs. Use this document to help develop a
spill management plan. Fill in pertinent phone numbers and keep a
copy in your vehicle, at the office, and at home. Be prepared to take
proper action if a pesticide spill happens to you.
