"Classes gave me a hands-on approach to problem solving and group work. Lower level classes set a firm foundation for concepts of higher-level classes at Purdue and for graduate school. Advanced classes in plant pathology and botany greatly helped my transition to graduate school.
My advice to high school students: take advantage of internships and work opportunities on campus. These jobs can help you decide if your major is what you are interested in, and you can make great contacts with students, professors, and professionals in that area."
