Here are some recent research projects conducted by our students:

• Evolution of the ß-keto-acyl-CoA synthase gene family
• Fine mapping and molecular cloning the MUR5 and MUR6 genes
• Application technology for bioherbicides
• Germination ecology and stress physiology of garlic mustard
• Gibberella fujikuroi P450s in relation to the gibberellin biosynthetic pathway

"The Botany Department has incredible opportunities for undergraduate research. I worked in a research lab here at Purdue for three years, and even had the opportunity to work as a research summer intern in Dublin, Ireland. The skills that I have gained from working in these labs has enhanced the knowledge from the classroom by allowing me to get hands-on experience in research. I’m confident that as I begin applying to graduate schools, these opportunities will prove invaluable."
