The switch from conventional tillage to no-tillage cropping systems generally creates a shift in weed species. Over time, small-seeded annual broadleaf weeds and perennial weeds become more prevalent in no-tillage fields. While most annual weeds may be easier to manage with herbicides, many of these perennial weeds present a unique challenge. This web page displays color images of common weeds found in reduced and no-tillage cropping systems. Each weed has a description, a mature image (left), an immature image (center), a unique feature image (right), and may contain links to control options in the publication, CT-2 Weed Control in No-Tillage Systems.
